BIO
Liat Mooree is an Israeli-born artist living in New York. Her work is inspired by the sights, moods, and people of the city, to which she responds with a mix of abstraction and cubist figuration. Her visual world is built around strong lines, primary colors, and geometric forms which she blends to produce dynamic effects. She paints in a range of media. Her visual vocabulary was shaped by her father, a professional painter, who exposed her to a variety of styles and approaches growing up.
Mission
As an artist, my mission is to create work that inspires and moves people, and to challenges them to think about the world in new and different angles. I believe in the power of art to spark dialogue, to foster empathy, and to bring out the beauty in our surrounding.
